Today is Teacher’s Day in Taiwan, so in a way, discussing books about books fits the theme! Here are 5 books related to books on my TBR from nonfiction to sapphic and m/f romance.

Making Nature: The History of a Scientific Journal by Melinda Baldwin

This would probably never be on my TBR if my advisor had not assigned us to read it. Each month, I believe, our research group reads something related to social justice. While I am unsure if this book actually uncovers some of the discriminations within the scientific community, I am pretty intrigued to learn more about Nature, the famous journal.
Letters Never Sent by Sandra Moran

Almost all my Goodreads friends love this book and since I love historical sapphic romance, I just had to read it someday. I know “letters” are probably not considered as “books,” but they are close enough.
Self-Editing for Fiction Writers: How to Edit Yourself Into Print by Renni Browne & Dave King

Okay, I know. Why do I even have this on my TBR? Because the wonderful Clare Ashton (whose newest sapphic celebrity romance I loved) recommended it during SCLHO Virtual 2020. I added it to my TBR in case I ever need an editing reference book.
The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult

I used to read a lot of Picoult back in my teenage years. To this day, she remains one of the authors whose works I’ve read the most. I always enjoyed her writing, and while the endings of most of her stories were less than satisfactory, I love learning new things in all the court scenes she used to write. The Book of Two Ways is a romance, but I am excited to read it after so many years of not reading her novels.
Spellbook of the Lost and Found by Moïra Fowley-Doyle

This book joined my TBR after I read a 2-sentence review of it from our lovely #5OnMyTBR host E. The cover is beautiful, it’s sapphic, and E. had called it a piece of art. What’s not to love?

You were a Jodi Picoult teen too?!? I can’t count how many of her books I read in my teen years! Her courtroom scenes were the best

YESSS OMG, Rach!! 🤩 I read maybe 8 of her books in English and 1 in Chinese, plus a few rereads, when I was 14–18 years old. In fact, Picoult’s book is the first ever adult book I have ever read in English! I didn’t really realize I wasn’t supposed to be her target audience until much later, but I just love all the courtroom scenes, too! What were your faves? I enjoyed The Pact so much I lost count of how many times I read it.

Wow that’s amazing!! I had to go through Goodreads to jog my memory of her books, but I think Salem Falls, Nineteen Minutes and Handle With Care were the ones I reread a ton. But looking back at them now, they all sound so similar?!😂

They kind of are similar though, but I love reading them all. I really enjoyed Nineteen Minutes, too! Don’t think I’ve read the other two. Maybe I should! 💕 Aw, this is so cool!
