Hey,
So I know I haven’t been posting in a while, and I’m just saying that I haven’t forgotten about here!
For the past month, I was trying to get settled in Urbana, IL, USA, for the exchange program I’ll be doing for a year! Things were busy, and now that I finally got more used to the life here, I am resuming writing!
Future posts will mainly focus on books, travelling, and performances.
I look forward to share more posts with you guys!

Kick Ass with Mel Robbins by Mel Robbins

Kick Ass with Mel Robbins: Life-Changing Advice from the Author of “The 5 Second Rule” by Mel Robbins
- Publisher: Audible Studios, 2018
- Genre: Self-Help Book
- Format: Audiobook
- Length: 6h 25m
- My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
In this audiobook, we hear the life stories of eight incredible individuals.
First, I was surprised how good each and every one of them were at talking. The live sessions of them with Mel were really enjoyable and we, as listeners, really feel the emotions in their room through their voices, pauses, and word choices.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing (Magic Cleaning #1) by Marie Kondo, translated by Cathy Hirano
- Publisher: Ten Speed Press, 2014
- Genre: Self-Help Book
- Format: Ebook
- Page Count: 224 pages
- My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)
If you need affirmation for getting rid of stuff without feeling too much guilt, then Marie Kondo’s book is probably pretty helpful. I think I understand how her ‘talking to inanimate things’ seemed crazy to a lot of people, but as a fellow Asian, it is actually quite understandable, though of course, it is still a little bit weird.

Alexander McQueen by Andrew Bolton
Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty by Andrew Bolton with contributions by Tim Blanks, Susannah Frankel
- Publisher: Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2011
- Genre: Art
- Format: Hardcover
- Page Count: 240 pages
- My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)
My collections have always been autobiographical, […].
This book is incredibly stunning. Amazed by how intuitively precise McQueen was with his work, I find the stills in this book even more breath-taking. It was a similar awing experience to glimpse one of his designs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Fifth Avenue, several days ago.

A Thousand Mornings by Mary Oliver
A Thousand Mornings by Mary Oliver
- Publisher: Penguin Press, 2012
- Genre: Poetry
- Format: Hardcover
- Page Count: 82 pages
- My Rating: ⭐⭐ (2/5)
I feel guilty for rating it 2 stars. While the thoughts and observance of nature are quite impressive, I have zero connection with Mary’s words. There are still a few lines here and there that I really liked, and I am happy that I had decided to pick up this book to read. However, while the praises for both this book and the poet are high, it is definitely not something that truly calls to me.
