Unfu*k Yourself: Get Out of Your Head and into Your Life by Gary John Bishop

I lost it near the end of the book: promotion of the author’s fucking money-costing program. Seriously? This is a 200+-page book and when I was about to finish reading, I realised it was some kind of goddamn ad brochure. Might have been a 2-star if not for the infuriating closing.

The book was not very helpful, filled with repetitive babbling of things we already know in a seemingly-funny-but-actually-not tone. What was extremely annoying was the made-up brain voice that took up unnecessary portions of the book. As if we needed more conflicted voices in our heads.

I nearly gave up when I was one-third through. It might be better as a lecture or blog post, but a book? It has got to be more structured and informative than this, not something filled with empty talks of how his clients found his advice helpful and possibly some inappropriate examples. The only page that might be helpful would be the table of contents.

Sum up the book in one sentence: the future is unknown, so work hard to make life better. [15 May 2018]
